1. Liners
The fixed liner (tooth plate), movable jaw liner (tooth plate), and side liner (guard plate) of a jaw crusher are susceptible to wear. Severe wear can result in larger product particle size. For initial wear, the tooth plates can be reversed, or the upper and lower jaws can be used interchangeably. Jaw plate wear is * common in the middle and lower parts. When the tooth height is worn down by 3/5, the liner should be replaced. When the side liner is worn down by 2/5, it should also be replaced.
2. Spindle, Eccentric Shaft, and Bearings
If the shaft wear is minimal and merely to correct its geometry, lathe turning can be performed to achieve the correct journal geometry, and the bearing inner diameter can be reduced accordingly. However, after several such operations, if the journal size decreases by 5% compared to the original, further turning is prohibited and the shaft should be replaced.
The jaw crusher operates under impact loads. The babbitt metal liner on the bearing shell has a service life of approximately two years, after which it needs to be recast. If the clearance between the eccentric shaft and the bearing, or between the mandrel and the bearing, is worn to a value *er than 1.5 times the original assembly clearance, shims should be added for adjustment or replacement. If the oil groove is worn 1.5 mm, the groove should be reopened or adjusted. If the clearance between the connecting rod head cover and the eccentric shaft is worn to a value *er than 1.5 times the assembly clearance, shims should also be added for adjustment or replacement.
If the babbitt alloy on the bearing shell has deep peeling or significant scratches, it should be recast. The following quality requirements apply to the finished bearing shell: The babbitt alloy surface must be uniform, matte, and silvery white in color; the babbitt alloy surface must be free of ash, cracks, pinholes, shrinkage, or shelling.
