Cone crushers and jaw crushers are essential components in processes like stone crushing, sand making, and grinding, but many people don't understand the difference between them. Below is a detailed explanation of the differences between cone crushers and jaw crushers:

1. Jaw Crusher

A jaw crusher primarily consists of a frame, movable jaw, movable cone, fixed cone, liner, screen plate, adjustment device, and eccentric sleeve.

The movable and fixed jaws of a jaw crusher feature stepless adjustment, allowing the movable jaw's vertical speed to be adjusted based on the hardness and moisture content of the material being crushed, thereby controlling the particle size.

Applications: It is primarily suitable for medium and fine crushing of materials with a hardness between 200 and 1200. It can also be used to produce artificial sand for construction and other applications, as well as in the mining and crushing of steel slag and limestone in the metallurgical industry.

Principle: A jaw crusher primarily uses the jaw plates to apply pressure to the material, forcing it forward and ultimately achieving crushing.

Advantages: Jaw crushers offer a simple structure, reliable operation, and low cost.

2. Cone Crusher

A cone crusher consists of a frame, movable jaw, movable cone, fixed cone, liner, screen plate, adjustment device, and eccentric sleeve.

The movable jaw of a cone crusher is a variation of the fixed jaw and rotates with the movable cone shaft. In a cone crusher, the gap between the movable jaw and fixed cone is adjusted primarily by adjusting the movable jaw and fixed cone. It can perform two types of crushing: coarse and medium crushing.

Application: It is primarily used for crushing high-grinding materials such as limestone and granite.

Principle: The crushing principle of a cone crusher is that after the material is crushed to a certain degree, the angle it makes with the center hole changes, and under the action of centrifugal force, it falls from a larger angle to a smaller angle, and then falls through the center hole.

Advantages: Good particle size, precise control system, optimized design, and long service life.

The operating principles of cone crushers and jaw crushers are different, and the material requirements they have during production are also different. This leads to * differences in their work. Therefore, it is recommended that when choosing a crusher, you must make * considerations based on factors such as the hardness of the raw materials, production requirements, and specific application scenarios.
